QUALIFICATIONS
Dr. Pereira is now
holding a position as modeler scientist at ASA South America. He has
a bachelor degree in Physics, a M.Sc. and a PhD in Physical Oceanography
(São Paulo University, Brazil & Bidston Observatory, UK).
Dr. Pereira has gathered reasonable experience implementing and developing
hydrodynamic models for several scales at South Atlantic Ocean, as a
researcher associate at the Oceanographic Institute, São Paulo
University. He also has been working with Global Scale Coupled Climate
Models in a joint program between University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) and
Los Alamos National Lab (US). At ASA South America he leads the team
responsible for the development and application of a large number of
estuarine and continental shelf hydrodynamic and oil spill modeling
systems along the South American Coast.
